There’s something thrilling to me about finding objects that seem misplaced. Perhaps it’s because I’ve never specifically set out to find juxtapositions like these – they simply appear to me while I go about my daily life. When I come across these objects, the potential for projected narratives emerge: a child’s pain after a scooter snaps into two; an overwhelmed shopper that can’t bother to return a cart to it’s designated area. I’d like to think that any of these images, purposely made more surreal by the use of a harsh on-camera flash, can inspire viewers to imagine any number of plausible yet made-up explanations to make sense of these slices of time.
